Turkish para swimmer Sümeyye Boyacı secured a gold decoration at the 2022 Madeira World Para Swimming Championships on Monday.
Boyacı sacked the gold in the Women’s 50-meter Backstroke S5 last occasion.
She defeated all comers with a period of 41.58 seconds, while her countryman Sevilay Öztürk won the silver decoration with a timing of 44.45 seconds.
Italian competitor Monica Boggioni took the bronze decoration with a period of 46.32.
Turkey’s Youth and Sports Minister Mehmet Kasapoğlu complimented Boyacı and Öztürk on the one-two completion.
“Sümeyye and Sevilay have indeed made us glad with the decorations they won. I trust the outcome of our public competitors will proceed.”
